The language needs of the company vary; specific job postings will state whether applicants should be proficient in these or any other additional languages.

What Do Jobs With Appen Pay?

Many of the remote positions such as search evaluators, translators, and data annotators pay an hourly rate. Crowdsourcing projects are paid at a rate per micro job, which varies.

Independent contractors are asked to invoice Appen once per month, and invoices are paid within 30 days.

How to Work for Appen

Applications to work for Appen are done through the company's Careers page. You will be asked to:

  • Choose the country you live in.
  • Select your language proficiencies.
  • Indicate whether you have worked professionally as a translator.

Based on your answers, you will be shown available positions.

Once you are hired on an Appen project, you will be required to complete a series of exams. This process may take several weeks, and training is not paid.

If there are no available positions based on your language or location, you can register with the company by providing your name, contact information, work experience, and educational history in order to be notified when a suitable project or position is available.
