CoolWorks is a job board for cool seasonal jobs and career opportunities. National parks, ski resorts, camps, ranches, theme parks, and other fun, and historic, places list their job opportunities on Cool Works. CoolWorks also provides resources and advice for job seekers, older workers, and employers.

In addition to seasonal jobs, you can review the newest job postings and jobs that are available immediately.

CoolWorks Job Listings

Employers and jobs listed on CoolWorks are grouped by location and season, or by category (such as Ski Resorts, Lodges, Camps, and so on). However, the site (which is fairly comprehensive) also has a few special categories such as Jobs on Water, Older and Bolder, Internships, Volunteer opportunities, and Teen jobs.

Look for Jobs by State or Season

Each state is unique and boasts a different natural wonder whether it's a volcano in Hawaii or the Green Mountains of Vermont. Because some job seekers want to stay close to home and others want to work 5,000 miles away, Cool Works breaks down all job posts by state. And, because some job seekers are snow bunnies and want to work in the Florida Everglades while others prefer the cold climate of Montana, Cool Works breaks down available jobs by the four seasons. This way, you can get away from the hot weather in Arizona by applying for a winter job at a ski resort in Maine.

National Parks are Cool Places to Work

Movies have been made about the family vacation road trip to one of the nation's national parks. If you've ever wanted to explore one of the country's 59 national parks then CoolWorks is a good place to start. The job site lists all kinds of positions, from camp counselor to line cook, at national parks from Yosemite to Yellowstone.

CoolWorks Highlighted Job Postings

In addition to general categories, CoolWorks has three types of Highlighted Job listings:

  • Seasonal Professionals, which are seasonal jobs that require previous skills, education, or training, and include seasonal management positions.
  • Careers, which are year-round, full-time positions that include an employment benefits package.
  • Entry Level, which lists jobs appropriate for applicants with limited or no experience.

If You Want to Work Immediately or Work Globally

CoolWorks also lists Help Wanted Now jobs that need to be filled within thirty days, as well as a Job Map that allows you to search jobs globally. If you're a non-U.S. citizen interested in working in the United States you will need to have the appropriate work visa but Cool Works can help with that. The website offers advice in its Job Seekers Guide: Work in the USA section located on its blog.

How to Apply

Some job listings provide contact information for the available position as well as instructions on how to apply. Other links on the site take you directly to the employers' recruiting page. Below, you can read about the jobs and follow their instructions to apply.
