While working for the "Portsmouth Daily Times," Angst covered the Cincinnati Bengals. He covered Marshall University football and basketball while writing for the Charleston (West Virginia) Gazette. In 2008, Angst completed a children’s book on Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson.
