Jen Hubley Luckwaldt writes about job searching and the freelance life for The Balance Careers. She has been writing about careers since 2011 and has published in Career Tool Belt, PayScale’s Career News blog, and Prevention. Through PayScale, her work has been syndicated to AOL, CNBC, Money, Yahoo Finance, Fairygodboss, and over 60 local newspapers.

Jen left the corporate world in 2011 to become a full-time freelancer. In her freelance career, she has written about everything from acupuncture to overtime rules, but her passion is helping others escape the 9-to-5 grind and build successful freelance careers. She has personal experience navigating layoffs, career changes, and transitioning to the work-at-home life, as well as coping with the work-life balance challenges that all professionals deal with in our 24/7, always-on culture.

At The Balance Careers, she offers advice on how to find freelance jobs, how to start your business, and how to create a freelance resume.

Jen holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and has taken several continuing education courses in business writing and editing.
