How much housing allowance do reserve members receive?
Question: How much housing allowance do reserve members receive?
Answer: It depends on how long you are going to remain on active duty.
Under the law, if a National Guard or Reserve member, with dependents goes on active duty for 140 days or more, he/she will receive the full Housing Allowance rate (the same rate that active duty personnel receive).
However, if the member is on active duty for less than 140 days, they receive a different housing allowance, called BAH-II. This allowance pays less than the full-housing allowance rate that active duty receive.
