Monica Borrell, PMP, is a certified project manager who practices and teaches the 80/20 rule in project management: 80% of the value can be achieved with 20% of the effort. Her experience encompasses strategic consulting, enterprise resource planning, business analysis, startups, and executive leadership. She is currently the CEO and co-founder of Cardsmith, a visual planning, communication, and project management tool patterned after one of her lifelong passions: sticky notes.
Over the course of her career, Monica has founded multiple businesses, such as
CornerStar, Inc, Matrix Consulting, and—most recently—Cardsmith. She has held leadership positions at Miravera, Inc. and Pinnacle Strategies, where she helped companies large and small improve their business and manufacturing processes. Her vast knowledge of project management incorporates principles of the Theory of Constraints, and Lean methodologies—not to mention decades of real-world experience managing complex projects and systems in all kinds of organizational environments.
