Online Faculty Positions

As the field of distance education grows, so too does the number of college-level jobs for online faculty. And many of these jobs--at both online colleges and brick-and-mortar universities--are home based and/or part time. For the purpose of this list, the term "online faculty" encompasses everything from teaching assistants to deans--including online adjunct faculty, dissertation mentors, and course instructors.

Encompassing American Public University (APU) and American Military University (AMU), this for-profit online higher education institution hires online adjunct faculty members as well as a few administrative positions as work-at-home jobs. Master's degree in ​a subject matter is required. Experience in college-level teaching and/or PhD is preferred.

They work with both students and faculty as they monitor engagement, grade assignments and facilitate course discussions. Pay is based on a per-student, per-course formula. Master's degree or higher required. A wide range of subjects include nursing, education, mathematics, chemistry and biology.

This private university hires online adjunct faculty members from across the world for its undergrad and graduate courses. Most courses are already designed, and faculty members facilitate learning.
