A day in the life of a stay-at-home mom doesn't involve bon bons and soap operas. While there's no typical day in the life of a stay-at-home mom, you can get a glimpse of what life is like in her shoes with this sample day in the life of a stay-at-home mom:
6:00 a.m. - Mom starts her morning routine by waking up and taking a quick shower.
6:20 a.m. - Wake up the kids.
6:30 a.m. - Start breakfast and pack the kids' lunches for school.
6:45 a.m. - Breakfast is served.
7:00 a.m. - Get everyone into the car and head to school and/or Mom's Day Out.
8:00 a.m. - Run errands like grocery shopping, going to the post office, dropping by the bank, etc., which may mean another trip back home to put away the groceries.
9:30 a.m. - Have a play date or visit the playground with your toddlers and preschoolers.
10:45 a.m. - Lunch time for your younger children.
11:00 a.m. - Reading time followed by nap time for the kids.
11:30 a.m. - Start in on the day's household tasks, including loading and unloading the dishwasher, making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the bathrooms and following the other items on your daily house cleaning schedule.
12:45 p.m. - Quick lunch for mom before waking the kids.
1:00 p.m. - One-on-one time with younger children, such as learning games or art projects.
2:00 p.m. - Back into the car to pick up your other kids at school.
3:00 p.m. - Head home for afternoon snacks or hand snacks out as the kids get in the car so you can go straight to dance lessons, gymnastics, karate, team practices, etc.
4:30 p.m. - Go back home.
5:00 p.m. - Start preparing the family's meal for the evening. Let the kids unwind outside or play together in the house.
5:30 p.m. - Serve dinner.
6:00 p.m. - It's homework time for your school-age kids and more cleanup time for you.
6:30 p.m. - Time to bathe your younger children.
6:45 p.m. - Bath time for your older kids.
7:00 p.m. - Bed time for your younger children.
7:15 p.m. - Spend quality time with your kids who've been at school all day.
8:00 p.m. - Bed time for your older kids.
8:15 p.m. - Finish any leftover chores for the day.
8:30 p.m. - Connect with your spouse after a long day of kid-raising to keep your marriage happy and healthy.
9:30 p.m. - Enjoy some alone time that includes me-time indulgences.
10 p.m. - Bed time. Your day starts over bright and early at 6 a.m.
